Use this thread to make waiver claims, and also to waive players and call up/send down to minors. A few notes:
*Once you waive a player, unlike the NHL, you will NOT be responsible for his contract. *A player called up from your prospect list must stay on your roster for 5 days at minimum. Please note that 'waivers' in this case only apply when adding or dropping a person to/from your organization. *In order to successfully claim a player, you must have the claim in for 24 hours without a player with a higher priority entering a claim. The player may not be added to your Yahoo! roster until this 24 hour period has expired. *Once you successfully claim a player, you fall to the bottom of the priority order *You may only enter one waiver claim at a time.
Waiver Priority Order: Vancouver Calgary Colorado Edmonton Montreal Detroit Pittsburgh Los Angeles Florida Tampa Bay Boston Anaheim Chicago Columbus Phoenix Washington

Now that the draft is over, we'll open waivers. Remember to use this thread to track any moves made within your organization (ie like the one above me) and also moves from your roster to your prospect list.
Remember the waiver rules:
*Once you waive a player, unlike the NHL, you will NOT be responsible for his contract. *A player called up from your prospect list must stay on your roster for 7 days at minimum *Any player that met the definition of a prospect at the start of the current playing season (in terms of games played) will be waiver exempt. *In order to successfully claim a player, you must have the claim in for 24 hours without a player with a higher priority team entering a claim *Once you successfully claim a player, you fall to the bottom of the priority order and assume that player's entire cap hit. *You may only enter one waiver claim at a time. *Make sure you track all of your moves in the waiver thread, including calling up and sending down. In your posts, include the player's salary, and if necessary his games played.

I guess you didn't get an answer, but its listed in the rulebook. Anything to do with movement on your roster (additions, subtractions, call ups, guys sent to the farm, etc) is all done here in the waiver forum.

Florida also had a waiver priority ahead of Detroit's, so Florida could have claimed Winchester instead.

Since prospects technically don't pass through waivers I didn't see much of a problem. Only Legace was eligible to be claimed off waivers.
And since prospects are waiver exempt; correct me if I'm wrong xalcyx, but waiver priority has no bearing here.

im sorry for the delay guys - work is kicking my arse and I just moved apartments.....Florida did pm me on 9/24 about this for what it's worth, I just didn't get a chance to respond. I really do apologise florida but I just could not be around much the past few weeks. However, as pointed out by Flyhigh, all you had to do in the post you made was to make the claim for Winchester yourself and he would have been yours due to the fact that you had a higher priority than Detroit.
Technically prospects don't pass through waivers when moving from your farm team to your pro roster, but the intent of the rule was to allow all gm's a fair shot at the prospects which is why we use the waiver system to claim prospects as well. I did say multiple times during the draft that all players not initially drafted (prospect or pro) would be available through waivers.
The answer to your question is yes, you can only have one claim in at a time. You need to cancel one of those claims ASAP. However, since it's been 24 hours you will keep whoever you don't cancel and then you are free to enter another claim today.
Once again I'm sorry guys, the confusion is my fault. I will do a better job of trying to be around a little more........

As a clarification: we're talking about two different kinds of prospects here, right? On the one hand there are prospects from our own prospect rosters who DO NOT need to pass through waivers, and on the other hand prospects who are free agents who DO need to pass through waivers.
Is this right?

yes
any prospect not currently on your own 15 man prospect list must first go through the waiver claims process before being added to your organization.
If it helps, when it comes to 'claiming' players, just don't even try to differentiate between pros and prospects because essentially the rule is equal for each (every player not on a team right now is considered a free agent). Only worry about the "prospects" when making moves WITHIN your organization
