putting mccabe on IR and picking up Lang... do i just drop mccabe? Injured Reserve *We will allow 3 Injured Reserve(IR) slots per team. *Players on IR will not count against your salary cap *We will use the Yahoo! guidelines to determine a player's IR status (ie. if you can't play him in Yahoo you can place him on IR in this league) *It is expected that you'd remove a player from IR in a timely fashion should his status change Since we are currently using Yahoo for management of the IR, you are kinda stuck with him until Yahoo makes him IR eligible. Of course you could waive him, but they would make him available to everyone else as well. **maybe we could change this and make our own IR management since Yahoo does tend to take some time for IR. I suppose if xalcyx agrees with it, and enough people agree we could make this amendment to the rules.**

ive thought about this and here's my position.....If we allow ourselves to make our "own" IR spots, we're gonna wind up with players getting put on "IR" for minor injuries that maybe have them miss only a game or two. Yahoo is fairly responsive, and puts the player in IR as soon as they do in the real nhl, so I think we should just use them. I feel it's a little more passive and will allow us to monitor it a little better.
The other thing is, in Yahoo, we have our roster size set already. Unless you can put the guy on IR in Yahoo, you're going to have to drop him (as in the post above). This would have the potential to get very complicated I think...

Columbus puts claim on Christian Backman Drops Jan Hejda You must have the claim in for the full 24 hours before you can make this move in Yahoo. Read through this thread for multiple explanations on this topic. I've dropped backstrom in Yahoo until your claim is successful

My mistake. I knew about the rule and did it without really thinking.

HEy guys, a small reminder (and nobody has done this yet to my knowledge, but it's just a reminder), remember this waiver rule when calling up players from the minors:
*A player called up from your prospect list must stay on your roster for 5 days at minimum. Please note that 'waivers' in this case only apply when adding or dropping a person to/from your organization.
